Title: Hardware-Software Interface Developer

TAG Optics Inc. has an immediate need for a programmer with hardware-software interface experience and high proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ to work on a project basis with primary goal of updating existing software code to accommodate hardware changes. Additional goals will include the programing of additional features and revamping the GUI. Although work can be done remotely, preference to local candidates (NJ/NY/PA) will be given. Successful completion of this project will likely lead to additional projects being awarded. In addition to prior programing experience, general electrical engineering knowledge is desired (current, voltage, power, circuit impedance, etc.).

Title: Optical/Mechanical Engineer

TAG Optics Inc. has an immediate opening for an Optical/Mechanical Engineer to serve on a short term (6 month) project and be part of an entrepreneurial team responsible for developing a new type of optical lens.  The successful candidate will contribute to the design, fabrication, and testing of prototypes with specific responsibilities including device and optical system assembly and characterization of optical properties.  Prior experience in multi-disciplinary projects involving optics, mechanical integration, hardware and software is preferred.  Working knowledge of CAD software, machine shop experience, or computer language (C/C++, Python) is a plus.

The Optical/Mechanical Engineer will be expected to work 30-40 hours a week on a casual hourly basis.  Hourly rate will depend on experience.  Possibility for full-time position for high performing candidates at the conclusion of the project.  Successful candidate for the role will have strong attention to details and follow the best practices in the field for assembling high quality optics instrumentation.

Assemble and calibrate optical systems and devices with minor directions
Perform variety of optical tests
Ability to collect and analyze data
Provide insights into solving emergent problems
Suggest ways to improve current processes

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field
Technical troubleshooting and assembly experience in the field of Optics
Strong experience with manipulating optical components
Experience with CAD design tools (ProE preferred)
Experience working in multidisciplinary small team
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Entrepreneurial drive and desire to see projects to completion
Familiar with programming language: matlab, C/C++ or python is desirable
